<p>Options used:</p>
<ul>

<p><var class="LITERAL">default_remotehost=</var><span
class="emphasis"><i class="EMPHASIS">default rm (remote
host)</i></span></p>

<p><var class="LITERAL">default_printer=</var><span
class="emphasis"><i class="EMPHASIS">default rp (remote
printer)</i></span></p>

<p>If the preceding steps do not yield a printer name and the
<var class="LITERAL">require_explicit_q</var> flag is not set
then the <var class="LITERAL">default_printer</var> and <var
class="LITERAL">default_remote_host</var> values from the <tt
class="FILENAME">lpd.conf</tt> configuration file will be
used. If there is no configuration file, then the compile
time defaults will be used.</p>
<p>Using the fallback values is usually not a desirable event
and may indicate that you have a misconfigured host, so the
compile time defaults are usually set to <var class=
"LITERAL">missingprinter@localhost</var> to provide an
annoying message for users.</p>
