# $Id: MAPS,v 1.2 2001/08/19 12:25:42 issever Exp $ Maps: ====================================================== More and more often you (the users) ask for premade maps for downloading. For sure this is nothing I can do on my own, esp. as I dont mud since I've started to write SMM to ease my mudding;). But if __you__ have mapped an area you are encouraged to send in your map(s). I will provide them from my website. Feel free to build up an own site too! If you provide me a link, I can point back to you. I would really appreciate it, if you would participate! I do my part of the job and you could join the effort at a cheap price; you have maps ready anyway,... You can use the export map functionality to save maps in an export file. Later others can download the those files and import them. Guidelines ---------- OK,.. every game has its rules;), so its more enjoyable. 1) Concerning quests '''''''''''''''''''' Please, dont provide questing instructions with your maps! I and you(!) dont want to spoil the efforts of area and quest makers and I wont provide such maps from my website. Of course there is a somehow fuzzy border and I wont be too stringent. But for sure I cannot accept maps with instructions: 1) go there, do that 2) go there do this 3)... You may also want to ask your admins, if its ok to provide maps, because I wont provide maps of mud, which dont want me to do that. 2) Format '''''''''''' Exported map files should have the extension '.smap'. Always compress (either zip or gzip or tar.gz) whatever you send in. If you provide more than one map (e.g. you mapped a tower with levels 1-100, or an area with lots of submaps) please put all maps into a directory and send in the compressed/packed directory. 3) Additional information: '''''''''''''''''''''''''' If you send me your maps, please provide me also some additional information. Otherwise providing those maps makes only limited sense. - creator(s): - contact email(s): * mud name: * mud ip and port: - mud base: - area name or describtion: - map name(s) and level(s): - map group id: - comments: creator(s): who ever should be credited. You may give yourself or your group an alias/group name and still your real names. If you dont give this information nobody will be credited (I will protect your privacy). Please note, that I cannot support harrasing, rasist, adult oriented or in general offending names on my site. contact email(s): obvious. You can leave it blank. mud name, ip and port: obvious too. This information is mandatory! I you dont give or cannot give this information, please tell me your reason. mud base: if you know it, please provide it too. Muds of same base often act quite the same, so its an useful information. area name or describtion: whats the name or here is the area located in the mud. map name(s) and level(s): the names and levels of the maps you provide. map group id: give maps, that will work together the same map group id. So people know, that they can use maps with the same id problemless together (e.g. mapped city and outlands and exits match) comments: I will provide your comments from the website too. But, please, dont write books. # ############################################################################## # ### LOG MESSAGES # ### As suggested by the CVS-manual this region is put to the end of the file. # ############################################################################## # # $Log: MAPS,v $ # Revision 1.2 2001/08/19 12:25:42 issever # Added the cvs keywords Id at start of the file # and Log at the end of the file # #
