echolot is designed to compile and run under any posix system (Un*x,
OS-X, Linux, xBSD, ...).
The following platforms have been tested:

         Debian GNU/Linux "sid/unstable"
         SuSE Linux 7.1
         SuSE Linux 7.3
	 SuSE Linux 8.0
         Knoppix 3.0
	 Knoppix 3.1
	 FreeBSD 5.0-RC2 (use gmake)
Alpha with Debian GNU/Linux "woody-pre"
PowerPC with OS-X (used fink to get a libpcap)
